Paolo Rossi - Executive Chairman
Paolo Rossi began his city career at the Bank of England where he bolsted his understanding of economic and central bank regulation and oversight of the UK financial system.
He subsequently discovered Trading whilst using US Treasury futures to hedge bond portfolios in the late 1980's.
By 1990 now being one of the youngest locals to trade UK Gilts, Interest Rates and FTSE stock index futures, he found a call to action as an ultra high volume market maker in German Government Bonds. From 1995 through to 1997 Paolo was the highest volume trader on the London International Financial Futures Exchange.
Brokerage businesses and funding new young talent was a natural progression and in 1998 created a storm by setting up the world's first off-exchange electronic trading floor for professional traders in exchange traded futures and options.
In 2001 with the open outcry pits on LIFFE now closed, he sought techniques to 'hand pick' new talent and teach them to trade from scratch. From just six initial Trainees, we now have Futex trading and investing across the continents in a multitude of asset classes.
In 2009 Paolo founded Futex Investment and Trading Academy in order to promote and create further opportunities to new talent in the graduate sector, and to provide a much needed opportunity for school leavers and apprentices.
In 2012 Paolo lead the creation of the world's first, a master's degree in proprietary trading; in conjunction with the University of Hertfordshire.
